You still love each other. You just don’t really talk anymore.
This workbook for couples is your way back to each other.
If that sounds like your home, the Love and Relationship Workbook for Couples was written for the two of you. It is a hands-on workbook for couples who want to feel close again: forty-seven guided exercises to talk more openly, argue more fairly, rebuild trust, and rediscover the intimacy buried under schedules and screens.
Maybe it crept up on you. Most of your conversations are about bills, the kids, and whose turn it is to take out the trash. The phones come out at dinner. The same argument flares up every time things get tense. Nothing dramatic broke, but distance grows quietly, and the longer it is left alone, the harder it feels to cross. It does not mean the love is gone. It means your relationship needs care, and care can be learned.
When Lily Mindwell worked in counseling, she met so many couples who still loved each other and simply did not know how to find their way back. This book is for them: warm, practical, and made for two people sitting side by side.
What this workbook for couples will help you do
- Talk without blame. Learn each other’s communication style, really listen, and use “I” statements that open a conversation instead of starting a fight.
- Stop fighting the same fight. Three steps toward resolution, conflict role-plays, a time-out that works, and your own rules for fair fighting.
- Feel close again. Explore four kinds of intimacy with deep questions, love letters, and a memory jar you fill together.
- Rebuild trust. Small, steady exercises and a weekly emotional check-in that make it safe to lean on each other.
- Get through hard seasons. Understand the most common reasons couples drift apart and build a resilience toolbox for life’s big changes.
- Dream in the same direction. Shared values, a vision statement, a couple’s bucket list, and a road map for your future.
What is inside
- Discovering the Foundation. Your origin story, your relationship timeline, your values side by side, and a commitment statement written together.
- Enhancing Communication. Three minutes of listening, the daily check-in, mirroring, role reversal, and what to do when a boundary is crossed.
- Deepening Emotional Connection. The four kinds of intimacy, and what quietly creates distance between you.
- Managing the Difficulties. Ten common struggles, from money to life changes, with ways to face them as a team.
- Collaborating to Design Your Future. The dream-planning meeting, the big talks, and a vision board for your relationship.
- The Emotionally Focused Approach. Inspired by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr. Sue Johnson: fill-in scripts to name your negative cycle, find the feelings underneath, and reach for each other.
You will also find the Mindwell Method, eight simple principles to come back to, Key Takeaways at the end of every chapter, a closing year-in-review built on the word REFLECT, and three bonus extras you unlock with a QR code.
How the workbook for couples works
You agree on a few ground rules, put the phones away, and choose a regular time on the calendar. Some exercises take three minutes; the daily check-in takes ten to fifteen. Each one tells you what you will need, from a timer to a jar or a few index cards. If a session turns tense, you stop, take a breath, and try again another day. Coming back is what counts.
The workbook is meant for couples who feel safe with each other. It is not a substitute for couples counseling, and it works well alongside it; if your situation involves fear or abuse, the “If You Need Support Now” page lists confidential hotlines.
Is this workbook for couples right for you?
- You feel more like roommates than partners, and you miss each other.
- You keep having the same argument and never get to the end of it.
- You want tools you can use tonight, not theory.
- You want to keep choosing each other, year after year.
What readers say
Three readers on Amazon in the United States, all five stars:
This workbook has a giant wealth of knowledge. It goes over almost anything you can think of for a couple. I think this book has brought my husband and I closer together. The questions in the book make you think about things you probably haven’t thought of in your relationship.
Shar Patterson, Amazon, November 2025
It is great that she breaks things down so there is no confusion on what to do and how to do it. I would definitely pick up another book that she has today and you should too.
Edward S. Adams II, Amazon, November 2025
Great ideas and good execution. Recommend for even just reconnection.
Steven, Amazon, May 2026
In short: a warm, practical workbook for couples who still love each other and want to feel it again. Forty-seven exercises, six chapters, and a way back to each other that you build together.
